KATEY has served for 30 years in law enforcement. A founding member of the UK Counter Terrorism Negotiation Team, she served as national lead for counter terrorism negotiation training, delivering globally on behalf of the UK Government and at Coronial request. A specialist hostage, crisis and kidnap negotiator, she has worked extensively with large corporates to bring her skills to the open market.

 

As the former UK representative in Europe, Katey co-authored the EU’s official guidance on counter terrorism negotiation that helped shape negotiation training worldwide, supporting national and international security. Katey is a workplace Mediator and a qualified Suicide First Aid® tutor for the National Centre for Suicide Prevention Education and Training (NCSPET).

BECKS is the former national police training lead for hostage and crisis negotiation and has provided world-class training to teams globally, preparing them to navigate some of the most demanding and high-stake situations. With expertise in business change, crisis, kidnap, command, and
strategic negotiation, with extensive operational experience, Becks has excelled in high-pressure environments.

 

She holds a Masters degree in Counter Terrorism, using this to modernise UK training for negotiators. This enhanced her understanding of human behaviours and organisational dynamics. This unique blend allows her to craft strategies based on proven psychological methods, ensuring effective, high-impact solutions in complex settings for business.

She has over 20 years of experience in the global security industry. Starting as an apprentice at IBM, she rose to lead global marketing for a top AI company, driving campaigns for FTSE 100 clients and accelerating the adoption of transformative technologies along the way.

 

A mentor and advocate for DEI, Marie has led award-winning initiatives that have driven meaningful cultural change. Beyond her boardroom expertise, she is also a skilled voice-over artist and dynamic podcast host. Her ‘pop-up podcasts’ have become standout features at major industry events, leading dialogue around inclusive innovation and emerging technology.
